Accommodations
Hotel Accommodations can be made at the Doubletree Hotel Denver, North for $99/night. Call 303-427-4000 and ask for the Colorado Bowhunters Block, or go online to the CBA reservation site at http://doubletree.hilton.com. In order to get the discounted rate, room reservations need to be made by Feb. 19, 2010.
There will be a shuttle running from the hotel to the Arvada Center exclusively for the CBA Banquet, and it will run in conjunction with CBA Banquet Seminars and events.
Call for Photographs
We will once again be putting together a slide show to run all day during the 2010 CBA Banquet (March 12 and 13 in Arvada) and a slide show to correspond to the Big Game Award winners and First Timers at the Banquet.
Additionally, we would like field photos of animals harvested that will be displayed in our Big Game Trophy Display at the Banquet.
Please send your photos of animals taken and outdoor scenes for 2009 to mrcfd@wispertel.net.
For photos of animals harvested in 2009 in which the mount will be displayed in the 2010 CBA Banquet Trophy Display, please send the photo to mrdziekan@gmail.com.
For animals, the score and the state the animal was taken in should be included along with who harvested the animal.
All photos should be of the highest quality possible.

Contests
Photo Contest: Categories will be Wildlife, Bowhunting, Scenic, and Trail Camera. All photos must be submitted by 11 a.m. on Saturday March 13, 2010. Photos must be at least 5” x 7” and must be either framed and/or matted. Name and address must be on the BACK of the photo.
Craft Contest:All crafts must be submitted by 11 a.m. March 13, 2010. All crafts must be hand-made or hand-crafted.
Arrow Building Contest: All arrows must be submitted by 11 a.m. March 13, 2010.
Big Game Award Entries: If you are interested in submitting your harvested big game in the CBA Awards, please contact Todd Brickel at 719-683-8201. If you would like to display your trophy at the banquet please contact Mike Dziekan at 303-823-2420.
First Timer Award: To submit a bowhunter for a first timer award, please contact Rose Ashurst at 720-936-5778 or rmashurst@yahoo.com. You will need the following information: First Timer’s Name and Address, species harvested, county/state of harvest location and harvest date. Photos are greatly encouraged!

2010 Colorado Bowhunters Association Live Auction
1. Youth-Adult Combo Doe Mule Deer Hunt. This hunt is a guided 3 day archery hunt in GMU 105 from tree stands October 1-3rd, 2010. Landowner vouchers are available if licenses are not drawn. Accommodations and meals included. Donated by Patrick Faast of Pack String Ranch Outfitters.
2. Texas Hog Hunt for Four. This is a 3 day, 4 night (Thursday thru Sunday) any legal method, lodging only. Unlimited hogs. Basic cleaning facility, bring coolers or freezer. Fishing available. Hunt January thru September, (best times are mid-May). Mike will cook and clean if you bring the food. Hunt varmints also. Donated by Mike Weaver, Weaver Ranch, Coleman, Texas.
3. Large Aspen Vase. Francis Serles has donated another high quality, finely crafted wood turning to the 2010 CBA Banquet. Francis’ donations are a mainstay at the Banquet and have been a valuable collector’s item.
4. Gredos Ibex Hunt – Spain. Donated by Giuseppe Carrizosa, 2009 Outstanding International Professional Hunter of the Year. This is a 5 day (3 Hunting) archery or rifle hunt for 1 hunter and 1 non-hunter in Spain in either 2010 or 2011. Hunter is responsible for all trophy fees, export fees and taxes. Success rates are extremely high for both archery and rifle hunters.
5. African Safari for Two Hunters. Donated by Matlabas Game Hunters. This is a 10 day bowhunting only hunt for two hunters in the game rich Limpopo Province of South Africa in 2010. Included are all daily rates, VAT taxes, accommodations, meals, trackers, guide, skinners, field prep and delivery to shipper/ taxidermist. Excluded are transportation to and from airport @ $250/ person, airfares, gratuities, dipping, shipping, insurance, and freight.
6. Pheasant Hunt for Four Hunters. This a 3 day, 4 night guided wild pheasant shotgun hunt at the end of 2010 near Kennebec, South Dakota. License not included ($130). Lodging and board included. Hunt with shooter’s dogs or bring your own. Possible prairie chicken hunting included. Donated by Shooter’s Pheasant Hunting.
7. Canvas Wall Tent, 14’ x 16’. Donated by Davis Tent & Awning. Framework is included. This spacious tent is both water and mildew resistant . Make your backcountry excursions comfortable.
8. Archery Elk Cabin Hunt. Donated by Wild Skies Adventure Lodges. This a lodging only 6 night, 7 day stay (unguided archery hunt) during the 2010 archery season for 1 hunter in GMU 12 (draw area). The cabin has radiant-in floor heating and area is bordered by the Routt National Forest on three sides. Hunt between 9,000 and 10,500 ft. Hunting accessible only by foot or horse. Additional Hunters at $1,695.
9. African Safari for Two Hunters and Two Non-hunters. Donated by Wild Footprint Safaris. This is a 5 day, upgradeable archery or rifle hunt March thru October of either 2010 or 2011. $3500 is included toward trophy fees. Transport to and from the airport, accommodations, meals, guides, skinners, trackers, and laundry service are included. Excluded are airfare, gratuities, dipping, shipping, insurance and freight.
10. Upland Game Bird Hunt for Four Hunters. Donated by The Bluffs at Valhalla. Enjoy a half-day archery or shotgun hunt with your buddies or family (20 birds) in 2010. Meal included. Must call in September for reservations.
11. Hoyt Dorado Recurve Autographed by Fred Eichler.
12. Governor’s Antelope Tag. Hunt any legal method, in any GMU during any big game season August 15th thru December 31st, 2010. Donated by the Colorado Division of Wildlife.
13. Antelope Hunt. Donated by Patrick Faast of Pack String Ranch Outfitters. 2010 Antelope Hunt, 1 Hunter plus 1 at regular price of $1,250 archery, $2,000 rifle. Also included is a shoulder mount from Hunter’s T Taxidermy.
14. Alaska Black Bear-Wolf Hunt. This hunt is for 1 hunter with 2 on 1 guide service. May be a tag along with another black bear/grizzly hunter or upgradeable to grizzly. Available in the spring or fall of 2010. Donated by Tom Shankster of Alaska Trophy Hunts.
15. Nebraska Trophy Whitetail Hunt. Donated by Chris Sheen of Buckhorn Valley Outfitters. Located in the Republican unit near Franklin, Nebraska, this is a 4 day, 5 night guided archery hunt for 1 hunter at the end of October, 2010. Meals and Lodging included. License of $209 not included. Hunt from tree stands and ground blinds. Also include is a shoulder mount from Heritage Taxidermy.

17. Canada Moose Hunt for Two. Semi-guided Drop Camp Moose Hunt for Two in Ontario, Canada. During the Rut Archery or Rifle. One bull and one cow. License not included. 20. One Week Stay on Lemon Lake. Enjoy a great get-away vacation with breathtaking vistas, hiking and fishing in a 3 level luxury log home on 36 acres near Durango, Colorado. This home sleeps 8 people. Availability is April-May or September-November. Donated by Dirk & Didi Dieterich.
21. Vintage Ben Pearson Longbow. Donated by Pahoo Cockiewa. Ben Pearson Traditional Long Bow, 50 pounds, 66.5” long, circa 1959-1961, Serial No. 15-S.
22. African Safari in the Eastern Cape of South Africa. Donated by Huntershill Safaris. This hunt is a 7 day bow or rifle hunt package for 1 hunter. Species include: Kudu, Blesbok, Impala, Springbok, and Duiker. Included are accommodations, meals, guide, trackers, skinners, complimentary fishing, and transport to and from East London airport in South Africa. Excluded are airfare, gratuities, hotel before and/or after hunt, dipping, shipping, insurance and freight. This also includes a $500 gift certificate from Mount’n High Taxidermy
23. Archery Elk Drop Camp for Two. This drop camp is in the Flat Tops Wilderness in GMU’s 25 & 26 (over-the-counter). Camp includes large wall tent, wood stove, LP for cooking, cots, foam, lanterns, fuel, ax, water, pack frame, latrine, two-way radio. Trophy Entries & Display
Deadline for Trophy Entry is Feb. 19, 2010
The trophy display is the highlight for many at each year’s banquet. Seeing all these tremendous animals knowing they were taken right here in Colorado is a great reminder of the wonderful opportunities we have available to us. To make sure each trophy display is bigger and better than the last, we invite those who have an animal that has never been displayed to please do so. Download the info and instructions here, complete the coupon at the bottom, and let Banquet Chairperson Rose Ashurst know what you are bringing so she can make plans accordingly.
