Colorado Bowhunters Association Scholarship
$1,500 Scholarship to be Awarded
The Colorado Bowhunters Association in 1994 established an annual scholarship to aid college students who are pursuing a degree in wildlife management or wildlife biology.
Requirements:
Applicants must be a Junior or Senior satisfactorily pursuing a degree in wildlife biology or a closely related major at an accredited Colorado college or university.
Applicant must submit a 250 word essay explaining why he or she aspires to work in wildlife biology or wildlife management. Any personal experience in these fields, including any hunting experience should be summarized in the essay.
Applicant must submit two letters of recommendation from persons in positions to judge the applicant’s likely success in the wildlife field. At least one should come from a college teacher in a position to know the applicant’s academic capabilities.
Applicant must submit their current college transcript showing classes taken and grades received. Although a minimum GPA is not defined, academic performance is a key selection criteria for the scholarship.
Applications must be postmarked no later than March 1, 2008. The CBA’s intention is to present the scholarship to the winner at the annual CBA Awards Banquet March 15, 2008 in Denver. The winner will be notified ahead of time and will be a guest of the CBA at the banquet.

Colorado Bowhunters Association Mission:
- to encourage and perpetuate the sport of bowhunting for all legal game;
- to protect, improve and increase the opportunities for hunting with the hand-held, hand-drawn bow;
- to cooperate with and support federal and state agencies, sportsmen's' associations, and conservation organizations, which are insuring the propagation and preservation and preservation of game and its natural habitat;
- to encourage and conduct educational programs designed to acquaint the public and the archer with the safe and ethical use of the bow for hunting and bowhunting as an effective method of hunting legal game; and
- to foster unity and perpetuate the spirit of good fellowship among bowhunters.
